Congregation Beth Elohim Religious School

Youth Activities

Every study that has been done about Jewish identity development demonstrates that intensive Jewish experiences such as summer camps, youth groups, and Israel are critical factors that determine a young person's Jewish commitment and identity.

There are many additional opportunities available to your child, both within the walls of CBE and beyond. Many of these programs are popular and in demand. Many local Jewish summer camps, for example, fill up in December or January. Students are encouraged to attend:

  • The Prozdor High School for Jewish studies in Newton
  • Jewish summer camps
  • Summer leadership programs through BBYO
  • A wide array of Israel experiences, including summer trips and academic programs such as the MUSS semester in Israel for high school students.
  • Acting as volunteers at our religious school. On any given year we we have upward of over twenty high school volunteers at the school. their roles vary from office assistants, to librarians, as individual aids to students and as classroom assistants.

We have an active chapter of BBYO that is active in regional and national events, for grades 8 and above. The chapter is called Arielle Ometz and is led by our teens.  For more information on Bnai Brith Youth Organization and what they do, please visit BBYO.
