Music for the Soul
In times of joy and in times of struggle, music can help us come together and pray for ourselves and those we love. Cantor Sarra and Education Director Beth Goldstein share two melodies that we are including in many of our CBE services. We hope that you will sing and enjoy them. Through these songs, we can express our hope and vision of tikkun olam - a more peaceful and loving world for us and for our children.
O-lam che-sed yi-ba-neh...
Lyrics and Music by Rabbi Menachem Creditor (Psalm 89: 3)
I will build this world from love
And you must build this world from love
And if we build this world from love
Then God will build this world from love
O-seh shalom bim-ro-mav
Music from Nava Tehila in Jerusalem (composed by Yoel Sykes)
O-seh shalom bim-ro-mav
Hu ya'aseh sha-lom a-ley-nu
V'al kol Yis-ra-el
V'al kol yosh-vey tey-veyl
V'im-ru, v'im-ru amen.
May the One who makes peace in the heavens
Make peace for us, for all the people of Israel, and for all who inhabit the Earth
And we say, Amen.
