Congregation Beth Elohim Religious School

Madrichim/ Ozrim Program

Madrichim

Each year 8-12th grade Beth Elohim students are invited to work in our school on a volunteer basis as Madrichim (student leaders). Madrichim serve as important Jewish role models for the students in the school and are invaluable to the weekly running of the classes. Madrichim are assigned to a classroom to assist the teacher in a number of different capacities, from general clerical duties to actually teaching a weekly part of the lesson. Madrichim are able to assist in other capacities such as one-to-one remedial tutoring, school photographer, and working in our Kesher program (this is a paid position).

Madrichim can volunteer on Sundays from 9:30-11:30am, Tuesdays from 4:15-6:15pm and/or Thursdays from 4:15-6:15pm. Kesher runs from 3:15-4:15pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Registration for the madrichim program opens each summer.

Ozrim

The Ozrim program is open to students in 11th and 12th grade and takes place on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 4:15-6:15pm.  The Ozrim program is a paid position.

Ozrim learn how to teach Hebrew in our self-paced Hebrew program and are an partner in the weekday teaching team.  In addition, they work with a teacher on the Chugim (electives).

To apply to the Ozrim program, please email Beth Goldstein at bethg@bethelohim.org
